Dear Parents

For those of you who are new to Cub Scouting, welcome to Pack 1 Saunderstown of the Narragansett Council of the Boy Scouts of America. And for those of you who are returning for another fun-filled year, welcome back.

Scouts, siblings and parents are invited to join us for our September Pack meeting this coming Friday, September 5th from 7-8:15PM at the North Kingstown United Methodist Church, located at 450 Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown.

If you've never been to a Pack meeting before, you may be wondering what to expect. The attached document explains what typically goes on at the meetings. Each month the den and pack activities are centered around a different Cub Scout Core Value. September’s core value is Cooperation.

To get your son off to a good start you'll want to familiarize yourself with your son’s Cub Scout Handbook. Please take the time to explore this excellent resource. This book is the foundation for all the essential information you and your son will need to know, and it explains the basics of cub scouting, the meetings, recognition for achievements, and descriptions of the types of activities your scout will be participating in.  In short, all of the information you need is at your fingertips, but at any time please feel free to ask your son's den leader or a committee member any questions you have about scouting. You can also find general information at

Our new CubMaster, Steve Prescott, all of the Den Leaders, and the Pack Committee are full of fresh and creative ideas and are excited to share a fun and rewarding year of activities with you, your scout and siblings. See you on Friday!

Yours in Scouting,

Demi Samson
